How Many Treatments:
Treatment of the patient will depend on the nature and duration of the illness. The patient’s problem is diagnosed on the basis of detailed history, examination and appearance. Once the problem is identified, the appropriate treatment plan is selected.
Patient Safety:
All acupuncture needles are single-use, pre-sterilised, disposable needles. The area around the point of insertion is also sterilised before insertion and patients can be confident that no infection will occur. Also all treatments are safeguarded by total confidentiality.
A Typical Acupuncture Session:
The initial consultation can last for 30-60 minutes. A thorough case history is taken with details of present symptoms, current medications and past history. An examination of the tongue and pulse is also carried out, and a brief physical examination where appropriate. Subsequent treatments can last for 30-60 minutes and can be carried out daily, twice-weekly or weekly, depending on the nature of the complaint.
